IPS Racing - Race Car Pars - Racing Transmissions - Part Sourcing
SWE started as a transmission contract company that serviced IRL teams transmissions for the season. SWE would act as the transmission specialist to save the team the cost of having a full time specialist. Steve Eppard (owner) has worked in the auto racing industry for 30 years plus. With his vast knowledge of transmissions and driveline SWE was able to service a number of the teams and also manufacture driveline components. As other major transmission companies came in to compete with SWE we just expanded our efforts into the Race Car Parts business.
When the Indy Pro Series started SWE was again there to assist the teams as a sponsor, transmission repair station, and as a parts supplier. SWE purchased its first Pro Series car in 2006 and competed in 6 races as Part Sourcing International and showed good results (4 top 10’s and 1 pole at Sonoma). At the end of 2006 SWE moved to a larger state of the art race shop that would also work with our other business ventures.
SWE has hired Tim Wardrop to be the Chief Engineer and Ken Casto as the seasons Crew Chief. Wardrop has won the Indianapolis 500 more times than any other engineer in the history of the 500. Our team manager is Gary Miller.
SWE has also shared their shop space and engineering with a new team to the series, Team KMA co-owned by Sammy Hagar.
SWE has been involved with the Indy Pro Series since it’s inception assembling, maintaining and racing the Dallara IP car and is pleased to offer the following services:
· Complete car preparation · Transmission preparation and service · IPS Rookie testing for your driver · Personnel training at our facility · Race car parts and consumables · IPS Set-up tools · IPS Upright tools · Parts Sales · REM Surface Finishing · Ultrasonic Cleaning · Magnaflux & Zyglo
