(25 April 2009) A new IRL friend of mine told me the following story, it gives credit to a young man and professional IRL driver (and his team) that I feel presonify all the many positive things about motor sports. The IRL is fortunate to have such a driver, one of many, who fans can relate to and cheer about on and off the track! editor

Submitted by Chris Cauley. "At St. Pete my family and I had the opportunity to meet Junior Strous and chat with him for a while on Sunday after he had won his second race of the weekend. He was so nice and talked to my 12 year old son for a while and posing for pictures with him. He told my son the story of how he ( Junior) started racing gocarts when he was 12 and went on make a career out of it.

So all the way home all my son talked about was Junior and how now my son wants to try racing gocarts. So a few days after we came home I contacted Junior via email to tell him how he had inspired my son and to thank him for taking the time to talk to us. To my surprise Junior contacted me back asking about my son and if we were taking him to try racing? Wow!

Since then Junior and I have talked several times and he wants my son to email Junior if he has any questions before he try's it and we are supposed to let him know how it goes after we take him to the track. He also asked me what was the next race we are going to which I told him would be homestead, he wants us to email him a week before that race and he will set it up for us to go to his hauler and he wants to show us his car and stuff!

He is really a super nice guy and to take and interest in my son is awesome. I also have sent Junior some of my pictures of him from the race and he put them on his website.. we are taking my son to a track next month for a 3 hour class with 1 hour of on track time to let him try out racing.
